The Glooscap Heritage Centre

The Glooscap Heritage Centre has received the support of the Millbrook First Nation community. The Heritage Centre has become a reality through the cooperation of many levels of government, organizational and community support. Managed by the Glooscap Heritage Society this facility will offer patrons exposure into the legend of Glooscap and the cultural significance for the Mi’Kmaw people. The center will be home to many artifacts, aboriginal gifts and crafts and will feature multi-media presentation that will capture the interests of passers by.

The 40 foot statute of Glooscap can be seen miles away as it towers over the Truro Power Centre and has already become know as another one of Nova Scotia’s landmarks.

On June 21. 2006,  National Aboriginal Day, the Chief and special guests gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the Glooscap Heritage Centre.
